One song, two ways. Which one does your kid lean into?

Play both for your kid and watch what happens. Sound on.

Which one got the reaction?

Watch your kid, not the screen: a head turn, a lean, going still, drifting off, or nothing at all.

How it works

  1. Play both. Two 30-second clips of the same song: the original, and a softened version of it.
  2. Watch your kid, not the screen. A head turn, a lean, a pause in play, going still, drifting off, or nothing at all.
  3. Pick what you saw. There is no right answer. You get a short read on what you noticed, and a link to send another parent so you can compare kids.

What softened means

Softened is the same song with the edges taken off. We warm the tone and smooth the sudden moments so the music has fewer surprises in it. Nothing is added: no voiceover, no effects, no new instruments. It is the version we reach for at the end of the day, when a room is winding down.

The original is the song exactly as it is. Which one a kid leans into varies from kid to kid and from hour to hour, which is the whole reason this page exists. We call the softened versions modulated music, and they are what Sagelull is built around: every song in the library, played seven ways.

Questions

Is this a test of my child?

No. It is one honest observation over about a minute. Kids react differently on different days, and "hard to tell" is a real answer. Nothing you pick is stored against your child.

Do I need headphones or an app?

No. Any phone or laptop speaker works. There is nothing to install and nothing to sign up for.

What should I watch for?

Small things. A head turn toward the sound, a lean, a pause in play, going still, drifting off, or no change at all. Watch your kid rather than the screen.

Why the same song twice?

Because it takes the song itself out of the question. Two versions of one tune show you a leaning toward a way of hearing, not a preference for a melody.

What happens with my email?

If you enter it to open five more songs, we keep it to tell you when new songs land, and nothing else. Email support@sagelull.com to remove it.

Is Sagelull a therapy?

No. Sagelull is music, not medicine. We make no claims about sleep, behavior, or development, and we say so on every page. See the listening notes for how to listen well.
